Number 3 son who is half chinese is very partial to his mashed potatoes and its derivatives

Potato Farls

  • 225 gm Mashed Potatoes
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1tbsp Olive Oil
  • 75g flour (Plain or Wholemeal)
  1. mix ingredients into soft dough (add dropof milk if dry or flour if wet)
  2. on floured surface roll into circle or rectangle 1cm thick and cut into triangles; wedges , whatever
  3. place farls into preheated non stick frying pan and cook low/meium flame 3-4 mins /side until golden brown and crispy

Bubble and Squeak

  • ingredients
    LI>400gm mashed potatoes
  • 200gm cooked &chopped vegetables
  • salt&pepper
  • 1tbsp flour
  • 2tbsp olive oil
  1. mix potato &vegetables, season and divide into round patties
  2. dust both sides of patty with flour
  3. cook in non stick frying panover low medium flame for 4-5 mins/side using half of oil until golden. add more oil as necessary
