Ap Lei Chau Village Hong Kong

Ap Lei Chau Village Hong Kong

Down the hill by the harbour is the original Ap Lei Chau Village. If you are in the market for maritime consumables one, you can buy a radar system; a mast, the odd anchor and adiesel engine here. (unlike up the hill where the tourists and "tai tai's" shop in Joyce.

There is a public library here which has an ever dwindling collection of english books and a "wet" market(so called because it sells fresh ie "wet" produce), and the Hung Shing temple

When I first moved to the area, it was pleasantly 'rough' but now it's becoming "gentrified' as the local authority developes the waterfront as a tourist attraction and developers build yet more tower blocks nearby. The upside however is that there is a wider selection of restaurants.
